Total Pitches is just the total number of balls that were faced. This number helps us create other calculations.
At bats are the result of a ball being put in play. This number will help us understand our batting average.
Contact percentage is the total number of at bats divided by total at bats.
Hits are calculated by HitTrax. They take thousands of pictures of the ball to calculate the speed, direction and trajectory of your batted ball. It then knows if the ball would result in a hit.
Extra Base Hits
Extra base hits are doubles, triples and home runs.
HitTrax will tell you if you hit home runs! The field size gets adjusted based on your age to make things appropriately competitive.
Hard Hit Average (HHA)
HitTrax will track your hardest hit ball and your “HHA” are all balls hit within 10% of your peak exit speed. For example, if your hardest hit ball is 90 mph, any ball hit at least 81 mph will be counted toward your HHA.
Average Launch Angle
Average launch angle is the average trajectory of your batted balls. This is a very important number to track to see how your swing is performing.
